“le sud” is the lower block of the vineyard, it is southwest facing and is lower in elevation by about 100 feet than the main vineyard. The slight difference in location provides earlier ripening and some different characteristics in the wine.
The combination of the age of the vines and our low-yield vineyard practices provides this intense fruit with such complexity that it holds up extremely well to 100% new French Oak. The barrels that are chosen support the velvety smooth and complex fruit we desire in this Pinot Noir. Cellar this wine for three to eight years and possibly more as it will age gracefully in your cellar. Approximately 85 cases are offered each year.
