Prive'- Your Private Vineyard

“le nord” is the northern block of the Prive' vineyard and is southwest facing, planted in Jory soil and at the perfect elevation. The Hammonds believe that a young Pinot Noir should possess an enjoyable fruit upfront, with intense characteristics complimented by the moderate use of new oak. This wine is made with approximately 25% new French Oak in order to let the “terroir” show without having to wait years for the aging process to take place. Enjoy this wine in the first five to seven years. Approximately 165 cases are offered each year.

“le sud” is the lower block of the vineyard, it is southwest facing and is lower in elevation by about 100 feet than the main vineyard. The slight difference in location provides earlier ripening and some different characteristics in the wine.
The combination of the age of the vines and our low-yield vineyard practices provides this intense fruit with such complexity that it holds up extremely well to 100% new French Oak. The barrels that are chosen support the velvety smooth and complex fruit we desire in this Pinot Noir. Cellar this wine for three to eight years and possibly more as it will age gracefully in your cellar. Approximately 85 cases are offered each year.
